FEMA/USGS Partner on 2007 Southern California Firestorm

To assist in the 2007 southern California firestorm, Dr. Ken Hudnut, USGS Geophysicist, and Dale Cox, Project Manager, USGS Multi-Hazards Demonstration Project met with officials at the FEMA Incident Command Center in Pasadena to set-up partnerships related to preparing for the secondary consequences commonly associated with 2007 southern California wildfires.

2007 Southern California Fire Storm Response

Dr. Lucy Jones, Chief of the USGS Multi-Hazards Demonstration Project, was tapped to coordinate the USGS multi-hazards science response to the recent devastating fires that have ravages southern California.
